# Free Trial

Draft Order Magic includes a **7-day free trial** for all new installations, giving you full access to test every feature before committing.

## What's included in the trial

Your free trial includes:

* **Full feature access** - Every feature is unlocked, no limitations
* **Unlimited usage** - Create and edit as many draft orders as you need
* **All templates** - Create property and attribute templates
* **PDF generation** - Test PDF invoice creation
* **Customer account features** - Set up and test customer account extensions
* **Full support** - Email support is available during your trial

## How it works

1. **Install the app** from the [Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/rm-draft-order-edit)
2. **Approve the subscription** - This starts your 7-day trial (no charge yet)
3. **Use all features** - Full access for 7 days
4. **Decide before trial ends** - Keep or cancel before billing starts

## No credit card required

Unlike many subscription services:

* You don't need to enter payment details separately
* Billing goes through your existing Shopify account
* No surprise charges during the trial period
* Clear notification before trial ends

## What happens during the trial

**Day 1-6**: Use Draft Order Magic freely

* Test custom pricing on draft orders
* Create and use templates
* Generate PDF invoices
* Set up customer account features
* Contact support with questions

**Day 7**: Trial ends, billing begins

* If you keep the app installed, billing starts automatically
* $15/month charge appears on your next Shopify bill
* All features continue working without interruption

## Canceling before the trial ends

To avoid charges, uninstall before day 7:

1. Go to **Settings** → **Apps and sales channels** in Shopify admin
2. Find **Draft Order Magic**
3. Click **Uninstall app**
4. Confirm uninstallation

{% hint style="warning" %}
Uninstalling removes the app immediately. Make sure you're ready to cancel before uninstalling.
{% endhint %}

## What to test during your trial

Make the most of your 7 days:

### Day 1-2: Basic features

* Create a draft order with custom pricing
* Add line item properties
* Reorder line items with drag-and-drop
* Try CSV import with a test file

### Day 3-4: Templates and automation

* Create a line item property template
* Create an order attribute template
* Use templates on new draft orders
* Test with real-world scenarios

### Day 5-6: Advanced features

* Configure PDF print settings
* Generate a PDF invoice
* Set up customer account extension (if using B2B)
* Convert an abandoned checkout

### Day 7: Decision day

* Review your usage
* Decide if the time savings are worth $15/month
* Keep or cancel before trial ends

## After the trial

If you decide to keep Draft Order Magic:

* **Automatic billing** starts on day 8
* **$15/month** appears on your Shopify bill
* **All features continue** working exactly as before
* **Templates and settings preserved**

If you decide to cancel:

* **No charges** if canceled before day 7 ends
* **Draft orders remain** in your Shopify admin (app doesn't delete data)
* **Templates are lost** (can be recreated if you reinstall later)

## Extending your trial

Trial extensions are not available. However:

* If you cancel and reinstall later, you get another 7-day trial
* Contact [support](/draft-order-magic/support-and-help/contact-support.md) if you need more testing time for a specific reason

## Trial FAQs

**When exactly does billing start?**

Billing starts exactly 7 days (168 hours) after you approve the subscription. For example, if you approve on Monday at 2 PM, billing starts the following Monday at 2 PM.

**Will I get a reminder before the trial ends?**

Shopify may send a notification, but it's your responsibility to track the trial period. Mark your calendar when you install.

**Can I cancel mid-trial and restart later?**

Yes. If you uninstall and reinstall later, you'll get a fresh 7-day trial. However, you'll need to reconfigure templates and settings.

**What if I install on multiple stores?**

Each store gets its own 7-day trial. Trials are not shared across stores.

**Does the trial include support?**

Yes! Full email support is available during your trial period. Contact us through the [support page](/draft-order-magic/support-and-help/contact-support.md).

**Can I switch between different apps during trials?**

Yes, you can test multiple draft order apps. However, be aware that each app may handle data differently.

## Making the most of your trial

{% hint style="success" %}
The best way to evaluate Draft Order Magic is to use it for real work. Try creating actual quotes for customers instead of just test orders.
{% endhint %}

Tips for a successful trial:

1. **Use real scenarios** - Test with actual customer requests
2. **Involve your team** - Get feedback from whoever creates draft orders
3. **Measure time savings** - Compare time spent vs. manual methods
4. **Test B2B features** - If you serve wholesale customers, test customer account features
5. **Contact support** - Ask questions early to understand features fully
